Who we are
TuneLoop is an Android instrument tuner developed by Fortis Mundi Studios in the Netherlands. For privacy questions or requests, email fortismundi@icloud.com. TuneLoop does not require a separate user account. Accountless does not mean that no personal data is processed.
TuneLoop and your information
TuneLoop provides local instrument tuning with optional TuneLoop+ subscriptions through Google Play. No separate TuneLoop account is required. Subscription verification uses our Vercel-hosted API and Neon PostgreSQL. Free users may see Google AdMob advertising; verified TuneLoop+ access removes in-app advertising. Microphone audio is handled separately from billing and advertising, as explained below.
Microphone and reference sounds
With your permission, TuneLoop reads microphone audio to estimate musical pitch. The app processes the audio stream locally in memory; it does not save microphone recordings or upload them to our servers or advertising providers. Reference tones are bundled recordings played by the app, not recordings of you. You can revoke microphone permission in Android Settings. Tuning detection requires that permission; other features may still be usable.
Preferences and optional diagnostics
Sound, reduced-motion and onboarding preferences are stored on your device. Android backup or device-transfer behavior may also depend on your device settings; we do not operate a preference-sync account. The diagnostic screen can collect pitch readings, technical timing/state observations and notes you enter. Only an explicit copy action places that report on your clipboard. It contains no microphone recording. If you choose to email it, the information you send becomes support correspondence. Do not include sensitive information in notes.
Google Play and subscription verification
Google Play handles purchases, payment details and subscription billing. TuneLoop does not collect your payment-card information. To verify a purchase, restore access and determine entitlement, the app sends purchase tokens and technical installation information to our production verification API hosted by Vercel. Neon PostgreSQL stores the necessary subscription verification and entitlement records, including purchase and installation identifiers, ownership bindings, product and plan details, subscription status, expiry information and verification or restoration records.
These records help provide paid features, recognize existing subscriptions and prevent unauthorized claims. Purchase restoration is supported after reinstalling, subject to successful Google Play and installation verification. No separate TuneLoop registration is required. Verification and ownership checks may require an internet connection. We do not obtain your Google account password or payment-card details.
Advertising and consent
The free version uses Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Verified TuneLoop+ subscribers receive an ad-free experience. The app includes the Android Advertising ID permission; Google’s SDK may use the advertising ID and other technical information for ad delivery, measurement, analytics and fraud prevention. Removing ads does not mean that all Google Play or SDK-related processing stops.
TuneLoop integrates Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage advertising privacy choices and present consent messages where required. Where available, use Privacy options in the app’s Settings to review or change those choices; contact support if you cannot find them. Ad availability and personalization can depend on your region, consent choices and Google’s service. We do not promise that every ad is non-personalized or that non-personalized ads are anonymous. Android also provides advertising-ID reset or deletion controls.
Google SDK information
Google documents SDK processing of IP-derived general location, app interactions, diagnostics and device or account identifiers for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. UMP processes information needed to determine consent requirements and manage choices. SDK processing is separate from TuneLoop’s local microphone analysis. See Google’s SDK disclosure and Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
This website and service providers
This static website adds no cookies, analytics, tracking scripts, accounts or forms. Vercel receives connection and request information, such as IP address and requested URL, to deliver and protect the website and verification API. Neon provides the subscription database. Google provides Play billing, Mobile Ads and UMP. Emailing support gives us and our email provider your email address, message and any attachments.
Providers may process information outside the Netherlands or the European Economic Area. Applicable data-protection requirements and provider arrangements govern those transfers; we do not claim that all processing stays in the EU. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data. See Vercel privacy information and Neon privacy information.
Purposes, legal bases and privacy choices
We process subscription information to verify and deliver the paid service you request (performance of a contract). We use necessary technical information for our legitimate interests in preventing fraud, securing services and handling support, subject to your rights. Legal obligations may require specific records to be retained. Advertising consent is requested where legally required; you may change or withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Other advertising processing depends on the applicable legal basis and the choices explained by Google’s consent messages.
Microphone permission controls access to your device microphone; it does not authorize advertising or unrelated processing. Contact us for questions about a processing purpose, its legal basis or your choices.
Retention and deletion
Microphone samples are transient and are not retained as recordings. Local preferences remain until changed or removed through app or Android storage controls; backups may require separate management. Subscription records are retained as needed to verify and restore access, handle billing-related queries, prevent fraud and meet applicable legal obligations. Support messages are retained as needed to resolve the enquiry and address related follow-up or legal requirements. Retention depends on the purpose and applicable obligations rather than an advertised fixed deletion period; provider logs and backups have separate retention arrangements.
You may request access to or deletion of identifiable service or support records by email. Requests are reviewed manually, and justified legal, billing or security retention may limit deletion. We will explain relevant limitations. Clearing app data does not delete server-side or provider-held records and does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to relevant processing, and withdraw consent. Email fortismundi@icloud.com. We may need proportionate information to identify your records securely; do not send passwords, private keys or full purchase tokens. No account registration is required to make a request. You can complain to a competent data-protection authority, including the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. Mandatory rights are not limited by this policy.
Children and security
TuneLoop is a general-purpose music tool. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can assess and address the request. We do not claim certification under Google Play Families policies.
Subscription processing uses verification and installation ownership checks to help protect access. The deployed backend includes purchase-token encryption and keyed matching mechanisms. No system is completely secure. Never send passwords, private keys or complete purchase tokens to support.
Policy changes
We will update this policy when our practices change and provide any notice or consent required by applicable law. Effective date: 1 November 2026.
Manual privacy requests
You can request access to or deletion of personal information using our manual privacy request procedure. There are no TuneLoop accounts or automated database deletion. Requests requiring backend identification or deletion are escalated for secure review; unresolved limits will be explained.
